Small Groups

Growth Groups at the Journey are about sharing life together. They are the primary means for building lasting relationships and helping others in the church. These groups of 8-10 people meet during the week about twice a month on average, typically in member homes or at the church building. Discussions range from what’s been happening in each other’s lives to questions based around the Sunday messages. The small groups are meant to be fun, supportive places centered around God that encourage honesty and transparency as we learn and grow together. It’s more like a group of friends getting together than a Bible study, and no one is ever pressured to answer a question or asked to pray out loud unless they offer. There’s no homework or extra reading, and everyone can be fully prepared just by listening to the sermon from the previous Sunday.

The groups follow the Gwinnett County school calendar and typically meet from September to May, with breaks for major holidays. Group members have the option to stay together from year to year if they so choose in order to further develop relationships with one other. Childcare is available in most cases.
